Government Releases N$37.7 Million for New Youth Projects

The Namibian Government has approved a new round of funding for youth businesses, releasing N$37.7 million for projects across the country.
In an update issued on Monday, the Ministry of Finance confirmed that 66 youth-led projects have been selected under the National Youth Development Fund (NYDF). The funding is expected to create about 404 jobs.
The approved projects cover different sectors, including agriculture, agri-processing, renewable energy, tourism, waste management, green transport, and technology services. Loan amounts range between N$88,000 and N$1 million. Assessments and approvals were done through Agribank and the Environmental Investment Fund (EIF).
The Ministry said this follows the pilot phase where more than eleven thousand applications were received. A new call for applications is now open.
Successful applicants must visit their regional Governors’ offices in the first week of December to confirm their approval. Those who were not selected are encouraged to get advice from their regional offices for future applications.
The Government says it remains committed to supporting young people and creating more job opportunities across Namibia.
