Namibia, India Deepen Health and Trade Ties

Namibia has welcomed India’s plan to set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility under its “Pharmacy of the World” initiative, aimed at boosting vaccine production and health cooperation.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah confirmed the move after talks with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying it would strengthen Namibia’s health sector and regional health security. The two countries also signed agreements on health and entrepreneurship.

Discussions covered expanding cooperation in sectors such as green hydrogen, mining, agriculture, and energy, with both sides pledging to advance trade and investment.

The fourth Namibia-India Joint Trade Committee meeting is expected later this month to drive these efforts.
