The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has launched a six-month awareness campaign aimed at improving compliance among trade operators by creating awareness about required processes and documentation.

The campaign, called “Every Order Counts, Let’s Process It,” was announced by NamRA’s Chief Strategic Communications and Support Engagements, Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze.

Ndorokaze said the initiative follows an engagement held in June between the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, NamRA, and operators in the trade sector, where the need to strengthen education on applicable requirements was identified.

He said the campaign seeks to help operators better understand the correct procedures and documentation requirements involved in trade processes.

“The main objective is really to ensure that we highlight what the relevant process is and what the requirements are with regard to practical requirement documentation,” Ndorokaze said.

According to NamRA, improved awareness and understanding of compliance requirements will contribute to enhanced compliance within the trade sector.
