Ohangwena Targets Investment Growth with ‘Singapore of Namibia’ Vision

Ohangwena Regional Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa has called on local entrepreneurs to seize investment opportunities identified in the region’s newly developed Regional Investment Map, saying it provides a roadmap for sustainable economic growth.
Speaking at a business engagement breakfast in Eenhana on Tuesday, Hamutumwa said the investment map highlights commercially viable opportunities across key sectors of the regional economy.
She encouraged entrepreneurs to establish new businesses, expand existing enterprises and form strategic partnerships with investors to unlock the region’s economic potential.
“The Regional Investment Map is designed to guide investors and local businesses towards opportunities that can stimulate economic development and create jobs,” she said.
Hamutumwa added that her office is committed to positioning Ohangwena as an attractive investment destination, with the long-term ambition of transforming the region into the “Singapore of Namibia.”
She said achieving this vision will require collaboration between government, the private sector and development partners to attract meaningful and sustainable investment.
The business engagement breakfast brought together government officials, business leaders and other stakeholders to discuss strategies for promoting investment and accelerating economic development in the region.
