Over 11,000 NYDF Applications Still Under Review, Ministry Confirms

A representative from the Ministry of Finance has clarified that the more than 11,000 applicants from the first round are still being assessed by the relevant institution.
The representative also revealed that successful candidates, particularly those approved under Agribank, are currently undergoing training in Grootfontein.
According to the Ministry, training is a mandatory requirement for all successful applicants before any funds can be released. This step is intended to ensure that every business owner is fully prepared and equipped to manage the support provided.
The Ministry further explained that applicants will be notified whether their business applications are successful or not. Those whose applications require improvements will receive comments and guidance on what needs to be corrected or strengthened. Applicants may also receive a call if further clarification is needed during the assessment.
They also encouraged applicants to consider applying as a group rather than as individuals, although this is not a compulsory requirement.
Additionally, the Ministry strongly advised against submitting multiple applications, as duplication in the system may lead to disqualification.
They also noted that applicants with negative debt records such as unpaid accounts at furniture and retail stores, may face challenges during the assessment.
