Standard Bank Namibia has announced a series of fee reductions that will ease banking costs for businesses from 2026, following changes to its Enterprise Direct pricing structure.

At the centre of the revised fees is a significant cut in cash deposit charges. Businesses will pay considerably less to deposit cash, with fees dropping from N$14.00 plus 3.84% in 2025 to N$7.00 plus 3.30% in 2026. The adjustment is expected to benefit enterprises that handle regular cash transactions, particularly small and medium-sized businesses.

Beyond cash deposits, several everyday banking services will also become cheaper. Fees for electronic banking payments will be reduced from N$14.65 to N$12.00, while inter-account transfers, which previously cost N$5.50 per transaction, will be free of charge. The My Updates subscription fee will also be cut almost in half, decreasing from N$12.50 to N$6.50.

Card-related transaction costs are also being adjusted. Local debit card purchases will drop from N$5.00 to N$4.00 per transaction, offering modest savings for businesses that rely heavily on card payments. International debit card purchases, however, will remain unchanged at N$5.00 plus 3%, according to the bank.

Not all fees will see changes. The monthly SME management fee will remain at N$210, while bank confirmation letters will continue to cost N$25.00. These charges will stay the same under the new pricing structure.

In addition, Standard Bank has reduced its overdraft establishment fee, lowering it from 1.65% to 1.30%, a move likely to benefit businesses that make use of short-term credit facilities. Fees linked to Blue Vouchers across various transaction ranges have also been revised downward, further contributing to overall cost savings.

The bank said the revised pricing reflects its ongoing efforts to support businesses by making banking services more affordable, while maintaining service quality. The new fees will take effect in 2026.
