Young entrepreneurs have called for greater investment in youth-led businesses, affordable housing and improved service delivery, saying these are critical to driving Namibia’s economic growth and creating opportunities for future generations.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the main sponsor during the Eenhana Expo 2026, spokesperson for the Eenhana Young Entrepreneurs, Linekela Shikongo, said young entrepreneurs remain at the heart of Namibia’s economic transformation and should be supported through meaningful partnerships and enabling policies.

Shikongo described entrepreneurship as more than just starting businesses, saying it is about creating jobs, stimulating innovation and building resilient communities.

“Eenhana is awake, our youth are awake, and our future starts now,” he said, urging young people to seize opportunities presented by entrepreneurship and contribute to the country’s development.

He said while many young Namibians possess innovative ideas and the determination to succeed, they continue to face challenges, including limited access to affordable housing and the need for improved municipal service delivery, which affect their ability to establish and grow businesses.

Shikongo called on government institutions, the private sector and development partners to strengthen collaboration in supporting young entrepreneurs through investment, mentorship and business development initiatives.

He also commended the Eenhana Town Council and stakeholders for their continued commitment to promoting entrepreneurship through the annual expo, describing the event as an important platform that connects businesses, investors and aspiring entrepreneurs while showcasing local products and services.

According to Shikongo, the continued growth of youth-owned enterprises will not only create employment opportunities but also contribute to national economic development and improve livelihoods across communities.

The Eenhana Expo 2026, which runs from 27 July to 1 August, has brought together exhibitors from across Namibia to showcase products and services, promote investment opportunities and encourage innovation under one platform.

As the exhibition continues, young entrepreneurs expressed hope that the discussions taking place during the event will translate into practical support that enables emerging businesses to thrive and contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s economic future.
