UNAM FC fall to Kabuscorp in Luanda
UNAM FC suffered a 2-0 defeat to Angolan side Kabuscorp do Palanca in Luanda in their continental campaign.
Kabuscorp made a fast start, finding the back of the net after just four minutes to take an early lead. The hosts were then awarded a penalty in the sixth minute, but they failed to convert from the spot.
UNAM FC were dealt an early blow when their first-choice goalkeeper was forced off before the 20-minute mark following a collision with a Kabuscorp striker. The injury forced the Clever Boys into an early substitution.
Despite the setback, UNAM FC dominated much of the first half, controlling possession and creating opportunities. However, Kabuscorp managed to withstand the pressure and maintain their advantage.
The Angolan side eventually doubled their lead in the 70th minute when Afonso found the back of the net to make it 2-0.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of Kabuscorp do Palanca, leaving UNAM FC with a two-goal deficit to overturn in the second leg.
The return leg is set to be played at the same venue in Luanda, as UNAM FC currently do not have a stadium available to host the match in Namibia.
