Luis Munana Recognised as Africa’s Fashion Educator and Mentor at ASFAs in Uganda

Renowned Namibian fashion designer, television personality, entrepreneur and model Luis Munana has been honoured as Fashion Educator and Mentor in Africa at the prestigious Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards (ASFAs) held in Uganda.
The annual awards celebrate excellence in fashion, creativity and cultural influence across the African continent, recognising individuals who are shaping the future of Africa’s creative industries. Munana was applauded for his long-standing commitment to fashion education, mentorship and youth empowerment, particularly his efforts to inspire emerging designers beyond Namibia’s borders.
The recognition adds to an already impressive year for Munana. In November, he was also named Brand Influencer of the Year under the Africa Best of the Year 2025 initiative by Ranks Africa. The honour acknowledged his influence in shaping Africa’s fashion narrative through creativity, authenticity and social impact.

This year’s ASFAs ceremony brought together some of Africa’s most celebrated fashion and entertainment figures. Among the notable winners were Swanky Jerry, who received accolades for his influence in African fashion styling, Diamond Platnumz, recognised for his consistent impact on style and popular culture, and Tiwa Savage, who was honoured for her long-standing contribution to African style and entertainment. Fashion entrepreneur Omoyemi Akerele was also acknowledged for her leadership and role in advancing Africa’s fashion industry.
The Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards continue to serve as a platform that highlights African excellence, innovation and cultural pride, while promoting collaboration across borders. Munana’s recognition at the event further cements Namibia’s growing presence on the continental fashion stage.
