Namibia Advance Into COSAFA U20 Knockout Stage After Mozambique Win
Namibia have secured their place in the knockout stage of the CAF COSAFA U20 Qualifiers after defeating hosts Mozambique 1-0 on Sunday.
The Young Warriors made it two wins from two matches, taking their tally to six points and moving to the top of Group A.
Rashid Naobeb scored the decisive goal in the 18th minute after receiving a well-timed assist from captain Lukas Sakeus. The early goal proved enough for Namibia to claim another important victory.
The result follows Namibia’s 1-0 victory over Mauritius in their opening Group A match, giving the Young Warriors a perfect record so far.
Namibia’s defender, Onesmus Timotheus was named Player of the Match for his performance.
The Young Warriors will return to action on Tuesday when they face Seychelles at 15:00 in their final group-stage match.
