Naobeb, Ashitenda and Kandume Fire Namibia Into Knockout Stage
The Young Brave Warriors booked their place in the knockout stage of the COSAFA U20 qualifiers after completing the group stage unbeaten and without conceding a goal.
Namibia secured a convincing 3–0 victory over Seychelles in their final Group A match on Tuesday, finishing the group stage with maximum points.
Rashid Naobeb opened the scoring in the 14th minute after converting a well-placed pass from his twin brother, Shahid Richard Naobeb, as Namibia went into halftime with a 1–0 lead.
Substitute Mateus Ashitenda then doubled Namibia’s advantage in the 61st minute before African Stars’ new signing, striker Michael Kandume, completed the scoring with his first goal of the tournament.
The victory means Namibia finished Group A on nine points from three matches, scoring five goals and conceding none.
