Road to NAMAs 2027 Begins as Organisers Unveil New Logo

The countdown to the 2027 Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) has officially begun following the unveiling of the awards’ new visual identity, including the official logo, by the Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, together with key stakeholders from the music and creative industries.
The prestigious music event is scheduled to take place on 13 March 2027, with artists expected to submit their entries from 10 August 2026 until 11 September 2026. The list of nominees will be revealed on 26 January 2027 ahead of the main awards ceremony.
The government has committed N$10 million towards supporting the NAMAs, highlighting its role in promoting Namibia’s creative sector.
However, Dr. Steenkamp stressed that continued collaboration between government, corporate partners, and industry players remains essential to securing the sustainability and growth of the awards beyond government funding.
