Mbappé brace earns Real Madrid dramatic El Clásico victory over Barcelona

Real Madrid claimed a crucial 2-1 victory over Barcelona after Kylian Mbappé scored twice, including a late winner, in a dramatic El Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
The result dealt Barcelona their first league setback of the season, ending their perfect start as Real Madrid strengthened their position in the La Liga title race.
Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, giving the visitors a first-half advantage after a quick attacking move. Barcelona went into the break trailing 1-0 despite efforts to find a way through Madrid’s organised defence.
Barcelona responded after the restart and found their equaliser in the 61st minute. Raphinha finished from a well-timed pass by Pedri to bring the home side level at 1-1 and give the Catalan club renewed hope of turning the match around.
The hosts pushed for a second goal, but Real Madrid remained dangerous on the counterattack. Both sides made substitutions as the contest entered its decisive stages, with Frenkie de Jong replacing Fermín López for Barcelona and Denzel Dumfries coming on for Federico Valverde for Madrid.
Madrid eventually delivered the decisive blow in the 87th minute. Eduardo Camavinga set up Mbappé, who completed his brace to restore the visitors’ lead at 2-1. Barcelona could not find another equaliser before the final whistle.
The victory gives Madrid an important boost in the battle for the La Liga title, while Barcelona will be disappointed to have lost at home after fighting their way back into the contest.
