UK-Registered Business, About Africa Co. Raises Sossusvlei Fees and Limits Private Vehicle Entry

A revised fee structure for 4×4 access to the Sossusvlei area will come into effect next year, as About Africa Co. confirms new charges for visitors.
Chief Executive Officer Helko Dorgeloh announced that from 2025, adults will pay N$260 to access the 4×4 route, while children under 12 will pay N$130. Current fees remain N$200 for adults and N$100 for children until the new rates take effect.
About Africa Co., which manages access and operations under an agreement with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, is the sole authorised operator providing transport from the 2×4 parking area to the 4×4 section leading to Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, and Big Mamma. Registered tour guides will continue to access the area free of charge.
The company also confirmed that from 15 December 2025, private vehicles will no longer be permitted beyond the 2×4 parking area. It further emphasised that no other operators may offer services in the Sossusvlei area without formal approval from the ministry.
