Nicolas “Woody” Jacobs could be on his way back to Botswana, with the Namibian coach reportedly attracting interest from a club in the country’s top-flight league.

According to Botswana media reports, Jacobs has returned to Botswana and has been linked with one of the league’s mining-backed clubs. The reports suggest that discussions could be underway, although no official appointment has been confirmed.

Jacobs is familiar with Botswana football, having previously coached Matebele FC and TAFIC FC. He has also worked with the Namibia national team during his coaching career.

The experienced coach was most recently involved in Namibia’s Premier Football League, where he joined Tigers FC towards the end of the season as co-coach alongside Brian Isaaks.

The pair were brought in with the task of helping Tigers avoid relegation. However, their efforts could not prevent the club from dropping out of the top flight at the end of the campaign.

Despite the relegation, Tigers later retained their place in the Premier Football League after securing the status of Young African FC.

Jacobs’ reported return to Botswana could now see him back in the country’s top flight, although the identity of the club and the nature of any potential agreement have not yet been officially confirmed.
