Rangers Continue Rapid Rise
Founded in Rundu in 2022 by president Meldinho Henrique, popularly known as “Meu”, together with co-founders Domingo Moko and Luka Ndara, Rundu Rangers have made a rapid climb through the local football divisions.
The club progressed from the fourth division to the third and then the second division before securing promotion to the First Division.
Rangers are now looking to make a strong impression at the higher level, with the club’s long-term ambition being to establish itself in the First Division before eventually pushing for Premier League promotion.
Chairman Uupindi Armas has been involved with the club since its establishment. He previously coached the team in the fourth and third divisions before becoming chairman following the club’s promotion to the second division.
Team manager Lysias Kamati has also been part of the project from the beginning and has played a role in coordinating player recruitment.
The club said Kamati, CEO Moko Domingo, head coach Ngandu Nyangana and former captain Enos David were involved in identifying and selecting players during the current transfer window. David has since been appointed as the club’s ambassador.
Rundu Rangers have also received sponsorship support from XPTS Investment, which has been involved with the club since 2024.
The sponsorship forms part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its operations and provide the necessary support as it competes at First Division level.
With 14 new players added to the squad, Rangers will now turn their attention to preparing for the new season as they aim to compete strongly and continue their journey towards Namibia’s top-flight football.
