Donated Computers Stolen Just Two Days After Delivery at Zambezi region School

Just two days after receiving a generous donation of 40 computers from B2Gold, Masokotwani Secondary School in the Zambezi Region has suffered a shocking theft allegedly carried out by some of its own learners.
According to the Namibian Police, the suspects broke into the school’s computer room and stole several units from the recently donated batch. The incident was reported by Bedzo Investment Security Company, which guards the school premises.
Police investigations led officers to Kabozu Village in the Masokotwani area, where part of the stolen equipment was found hidden in bundles of grass. During a follow-up search at the school, more items including monitors, keyboards, and two school bags believed to belong to the suspects were discovered behind the computer room near a broken window.
All the stolen items were recovered and handed back to the school principal in the presence of staff members and the security company. The principal is expected to register a formal case with the police.
The computers, part of B2Gold’s 40-unit donation handed over on Monday, were intended to boost digital learning at the rural school. The incident has raised concern among community members about the growing challenge of theft and vandalism in schools.
