Two-Year-Old Child Dies in Bucket Drowning Incident in Omusati

A tragic accident involving a young child has been reported in the Omusati Region after a two-year-old boy lost his life in a drowning incident at Omadhiya village in the Onesi Constituency.
According to information released in the weekend crime report, the incident occurred on Saturday, 21 March 2026, at around 11:00. It is alleged that the toddler drowned in a bucket filled with water that had been placed under a tap at the homestead.
Preliminary reports indicate that the child had been left under the supervision of other minor children while the guardian had reportedly gone to a nearby shop at the time of the incident. The circumstances leading to the drowning are still being investigated.
Authorities confirmed that the next of kin have been informed, and police have opened a case as part of ongoing investigations.
