
Police in Henties Bay are investigating a strange burglary that took place early Thursday morning at a local seal factory, where thieves stole seal parts worth almost N$1 million.
According to Erongo Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the incident happened around 05:00 when the suspects reportedly removed the office door to enter the building.
Once inside, they stole 696 large seal bull genitals, 2 225 smaller pieces, and an Acer laptop with its hard drive. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at N$950 000.
The factory manager, a 61-year-old Chinese national, discovered the break-in and immediately alerted the police.
So far, no arrests have been made, and none of the stolen items have been recovered. Police investigations are still ongoing.
