A man has been arrested after his 47-year-old girlfriend, Maggie Xoagus, was found unresponsive following an alleged assault during an argument in Goreangab Dam location.
According to preliminary police information, the incident occurred during a confrontation between the couple, during which the suspect reportedly assaulted Xoagus. Emergency services were alerted but found her unresponsive on arrival.
She was declared dead at the scene.
The suspect has been taken into police custody and is expected to face charges related to the alleged assault and ensuing death. Police say investigations are ongoing as they await further forensic and post-mortem reports to determine the exact cause of death.
