Two men, aged 28 and 35, are in custody following a failed armed robbery in Theo Ben Gurirab Street, Walvis Bay, on Monday, 9 February.

Police reports indicate that three suspects allegedly targeted a residence shortly after the homeowner had left for work. The suspects reportedly disabled the electric gate motor before confronting a domestic worker and forcing her to open the main bedroom.

Their plan was cut short when a vigilant neighbour noticed suspicious activity and alerted the police. Officers responded promptly and managed to apprehend two of the suspects at the scene.

During the arrest, authorities confiscated an unlicensed 9mm P38 pistol with a defaced serial number. A third suspect, believed to have been the getaway driver, fled the scene in a black Kia Rio fitted with counterfeit registration plates. The vehicle was later found abandoned near Johanna Benson Street in Tutaleni.

Fortunately, nothing was taken from the property.
