Two More Arrested in //Karas Regional Council in connection with the Ongoing Corruption Investigation

The widening corruption investigation at the //Karas Regional Council has led to the arrest of two more suspects, including a former contractor linked to August 26 Construction and his mother.
The latest arrests come shortly after the detention of the council’s acting Chief Regional Officer (CRO), who was taken into custody as part of the same probe.
Investigators are scrutinising a series of financial transactions allegedly connected to council contracts and suppliers. At the centre of the investigation is a payment amounting to N$3.9 million, reportedly linked to August 26 Construction.
According to information contained in court documents, a portion of the funds under investigation is alleged to have been transferred into a bank account registered in the name of the acting CRO’s minor daughter. Authorities are now working to determine the flow of funds and whether any criminal conduct took place.
The matter remains under investigation, and the suspects are expected to appear in court as the case progresses.
