Sparks F.C. has emerged as the winner of the Namport Third Division play-offs in the Zambezi Region after topping the table with seven points, marking a remarkable comeback for a club that had been inactive for more than three decades.
The victory represents a major milestone for Sparks F.C., a club that existed before Namibia’s
independence but had disappeared from competitive football for over 30 years before making its return to the regional football scene.
Speaking after the team’s triumph, the Chairperson of the Management Committee, Mr.
Liswaniso Kaseba, expressed his excitement and pride in the club’s achievement.
“We are very happy to see Sparks F.C. back in competitive football. This club existed before
independence, and after being inactive for more than 30 years, we have managed to revive it and
return to the Namport Third Division. Winning the play-offs is a great achievement for everyone
involved,” said Kaseba.
He commended the players, technical team, management, and supporters for their dedication
and commitment, which contributed to the club’s successful return.
Meanwhile, the club’s head coach, Mr. Luseso Pumulo, said he remains committed to working
closely with the management committee to ensure the continued growth and success of the
club.
“We will continue working together with the management and fulfill our responsibilities as a
technical team. Our objective is to build on this success and ensure that Sparks F.C. progresses
to the Second Division next season,” said Pumulo.
The return and success of Sparks F.C. have been welcomed by football supporters across the
Zambezi Region, with many viewing the club’s revival as a positive development for local
football.
With renewed ambition, strong leadership, and a commitment to development, Sparks F.C. now
