Man Arrested Over Alleged Rape of Five-Year-Old Boy in Omusati

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in the Omusati Region following allegations that he raped a five-year-old boy at Ohambalanganga village in the Outapi Constituency.
The case was reported to the police by the child’s 60-year-old grandmother, who brought the allegations to the attention of law enforcement.
Omusati Regional Police Commander Commissioner Ismael Basson said the alleged incident took place on an unknown date earlier this year.
According to Basson, the suspect is believed to be the boy’s uncle and was allegedly alone with the child inside the house when the incident occurred.
The suspect allegedly chased the boy before taking him into a bedroom, where he allegedly raped him.
Police said there were no reports indicating that alcohol was involved in the incident.
The suspect is expected to appear in court this week, while police investigations into the case are continuing.
