Barcola Hat-Trick Fires Liverpool to 6-3 Champions League Win Over LASK

Liverpool produced an impressive attacking display to defeat LASK 6-3 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, October 14, 2026, with Bradley Barcola scoring a hat-trick at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz, Austria.
The French forward opened his Liverpool scoring account with three goals as the visitors claimed their second consecutive victory in the competition’s league phase. However, despite their attacking dominance, Liverpool conceded three second-half goals, leaving room for concern over their defensive performance.
Liverpool took control in the 22nd minute when Ronald Araújo headed home from a Kostas Tsimikas corner to give the visitors the lead.
Just two minutes later, Barcola doubled Liverpool’s advantage, finishing after good attacking work involving Louie Koumas. The forward struck again in the 37th minute, converting Florian Wirtz’s assist to send Liverpool into half-time with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The visitors continued their momentum after the break, with Jeremie Frimpong making it 4-0 in the 51st minute. The defender connected with another Tsimikas delivery to extend Liverpool’s advantage.
LASK responded in the 63rd minute through Robert Ljubičić, who finished after being set up by Junior Yvan Nyabeye Dibango.
Liverpool quickly restored their four-goal cushion as Barcola completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute, converting Frimpong’s cross to make it 5-1.
Koumas added a sixth goal for Liverpool in the 72nd minute, finishing another opportunity created by Frimpong as the visitors appeared to be heading towards an emphatic victory.
However, LASK refused to give up. Florian Flecker scored in the 74th minute before finding the net again three minutes later, reducing the deficit to 6-3 and giving the home supporters something to celebrate.
Despite the late response from the Austrian side, Liverpool held on to secure all three points.
The result underlined Liverpool’s attacking strength, with Barcola delivering a standout performance and Frimpong contributing a goal and two assists. Nevertheless, conceding three goals after building a five-goal advantage will be an area the team will want to address in their upcoming fixtures.
Liverpool’s victory gives them six points from their opening two Champions League league-phase matches, strengthening their start to the European campaign.
