Bayern Munich Coach Vincent Kompany Rushed to Hospital After Collapsing at Training

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was taken to a hospital in Munich by ambulance on Friday after reportedly collapsing at the club’s training ground, raising concerns about the Belgian manager’s health.
According to German newspaper BILD and reports from Sky Germany, the incident occurred at Bayern’s Säbener Straße training complex on October 23, 2026. A rescue helicopter was also reported to have landed at the facility earlier in the day.
The 40-year-old coach had reportedly been battling a viral infection in recent days and had experienced health difficulties during the previous week. His condition reportedly affected his ability to carry out normal activities, including climbing stairs.
Kompany had also experienced difficulties around Bayern’s recent matches. He missed training activities ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League meeting with Arsenal before returning to the touchline for Wednesday’s 2-2 draw against the English side.
The exact cause of the incident and the severity of Kompany’s condition had not been officially confirmed at the time of reporting. Bayern Munich had not yet released an official statement, according to Reuters.
Bayern are scheduled to face Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday, with uncertainty remaining over Kompany’s availability for the match.
