A 52-year-old man lost his life in a tragic car accident on the B8 road, about 7 kilometres from Grootfontein in the direction of Otavi, police confirmed.
Otjozondjupa Regional Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, said the crash occurred after the driver of a black Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon reportedly lost control and collided with the Calvent Bridge. The vehicle overturned, and the man, who was traveling alone, was thrown out and died on the spot.
Preliminary information suggests the man was on his way from Swakopmund to Grootfontein when the incident happened.
His next of kin have been notified, and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
