
Tragedy struck in Otjiwarongo on Saturday night after a 44-year-old man allegedly took his own life, according to the Namibian Police.
The deceased, identified as Rodney Ettwein, was discovered lying outside his residence by one of his employees at around 22h00. Police say Ettwein had been living at the house with his fiancée, who later found a suicide note left behind.
Confirming the incident in their weekend crime report, the police said the body was transported to the Otjiwarongo State Hospital, where he was officially declared dead. His remains were then taken to the local police mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the contents of the note, and the motive behind the apparent suicide remains unclear. Ettwein’s next of kin have been informed.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
