
A man has been arrested in Kuisebmond following an incident in which he allegedly ran over a woman with a vehicle during a dispute over a taxi fare.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 18 August 2025, around 01:00 in the Namport area of Kuisebmond, Erongo police spokesperson Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula confirmed.
According to police reports, the 28-year-old Namibian woman sustained a fractured left foot after being deliberately bumped by the suspect’s vehicle.
“The altercation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over taxi charges,” Shomongula stated.
The victim was transported to the Walvis Bay State Hospital, where she was treated and discharged later the same day.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of attempted murder.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
