
A 48-year-old woman was violently assaulted and tied up during a house robbery in Walvis Bay on Friday morning, 22 August 2025. The incident occurred around 07:00 on Hage Geingob Street, leaving the community shocked and concerned about rising violent crime.
According to Nampol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect or suspects broke into the victim’s home, overpowered her, and subjected her to a brutal attack before restraining her.
The robbers allegedly made off with two firearms, two gold watches, jewellery, an iPhone 16, a laptop, and cash, with the total value of stolen items estimated at N$356,000.
The Erongo police have opened a case of housebreaking with intent to rob and robbery with aggravating circumstances. At this stage, no arrests have been made and none of the stolen property has been recovered.
Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
