A vehicle for Flolindu Masati was completely destroyed by fire yesterday in Kavango West, about eight kilometres from Mburuuru village while transporting goods to a farm.
According to Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the fire broke out suddenly from underneath the rear section of the vehicle before spreading rapidly and engulfing it in flames. Despite the severity of the blaze, the driver and other occupants managed to escape unharmed.
“The vehicle was reduced to ashes and is beyond repair,” Muronga confirmed. He added that while no injuries or fatalities were recorded, the exact cause of the fire remains unclear.
Police have since launched an investigation to determine whether the blaze was caused by a mechanical fault, electrical malfunction, or another underlying issue.
