A federal judge in Manhattan has sentenced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to four years and two months in prison following his conviction in July on prostitution-related charges.
During Friday’s sentencing, Judge Arun Subramanian also ordered Combs to pay a $500,000 fine and serve five years of supervised release after completing his sentence.
The 55-year-old was found guilty of arranging interstate travel of escorts for drug-fueled sexual encounters, referred to in court as “freak-offs.” He was, however, acquitted on more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking.
In a remorseful statement before the court, Combs expressed regret for his actions, saying he “hates himself” for what happened and takes full responsibility. His children also spoke on his behalf, describing their father as a changed man and asking for leniency.
Prosecutors had pushed for more than 11 years behind bars, arguing that the case revealed a long pattern of abusive behavior and exploitation. The defense, meanwhile, sought a lighter sentence of just over a year, emphasizing his cooperation and steps toward rehabilitation.
Combs has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024. His legal team has indicated plans to appeal the ruling.
