A 32-year-old man, identified as Simuma William Mungenga, is battling for his life in hospital after being stabbed multiple times at Kaisosi location in Rundu on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Kavango East police crime investigations coordinator, Bonifatius Kanyetu, the incident occurred between 16h00 and 17h00, when the suspect allegedly attacked Mungenga with a traditional knife.
“Mungenga sustained serious injuries to his abdomen, ribs, and neck. He was rushed to Rundu State Hospital, where he was immediately taken to the theatre for emergency treatment,” Kanyetu said.
The suspect has since been arrested, and police have opened a case of attempted murder as investigations continue.
Authorities are yet to establish the motive behind the attack.
Police have urged the public to avoid resorting to violence when resolving disputes and to report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement officers.
