City Police spokesperson Marcelline Murapo has confirmed that a case has been opened against community activist Shaun Gariseb following last week’s protest at the City of Windhoek Customer Care office.
Gariseb and a group of residents from Katutura Central reportedly delivered containers of sewage to the municipal offices in a dramatic demonstration meant to highlight the community’s frustration over unresolved sewage issues.
According to Murapo, the Chief of City Police, Leevy Ileka, is expected to comment further on the matter later this afternoon.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions from the public, with some praising the group for taking a bold stand, while others condemned the act as unlawful and unhygienic.
