Government Approves 66 Youth Projects Worth N$37.7 Million

The Ministry of Finance has announced that 66 youth projects have been approved under the National Youth Development Fund, with a total funding amount of N$37.7 million. The announcement was made on 24 November 2025.
According to the ministry, the funding will help create 404 new jobs for young people across all regions. The supported projects fall under sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, horticulture, tourism, waste management, green transport, agro-processing and other value-addition activities.
The approved projects include poultry farming, livestock rearing, crop production, aquaponics, biomass processing, recycling, innovative technology services and renewable-energy installations. Successful applicants received loan amounts ranging from N$88,000 to N$1 million. All evaluations were carried out through Agribank and the Environmental Investment Fund.
The ministry has also opened a new call for applications to ensure the fund remains active and accessible. Applications must be submitted through regional Governors’ offices. More than 11,000 submissions were received during the pilot phase, and the ministry will continue sharing updates on new approvals. Young people are advised to visit their Governors’ offices during the first week of December to check the status of their applications.
The Ministry of Finance thanked all applicants and encouraged those who were not selected to seek help from regional offices for future submissions. Government says it remains committed to expanding opportunities for young Namibians and supporting job creation across the country.
