Atlético Madrid Held to 2–2 Draw by Villarreal

Atlético Madrid were held to a 2–2 draw by Villarreal on Sunday in an entertaining LaLiga encounter at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

The hosts took the lead through Marc Pubill in the second half, but Villarreal quickly responded when Gerard Moreno converted from the penalty spot.

The visitors then moved ahead after Georges Mikautadze scored another penalty, following a red card for Atlético defender Robin Le Normand.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Atlético fought back late in the game, with Giuliano Simeone scoring to rescue a point for Diego Simeone’s side.

The draw gives both teams a point, while Atlético will be disappointed not to have secured victory on home soil.
