Wakudumo Takes New Role at Rundu Chiefs

Rundu Chiefs Football Club has officially reshaped its technical bench ahead of the decisive stretch of the 2025/26 season, confirming the appointment of Galiel Pelwan as the club’s new head coach.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 27 February 2026, following what the club described as internal technical assessments and board deliberations. Pelwan takes over the role with immediate effect and is expected to lead the team for the remainder of the campaign and beyond.
In the same statement, the club confirmed that Marcelo Wacko Wakudumo has been appointed as assistant coach. Wakudumo had previously parted ways with the club after the expiration of his initial contract and a performance review. However, management has now opted to reintegrate him into the technical setup as part of what it calls a broader restructuring plan.
“Following further consultations and technical planning, the club has resolved to reintegrate Coach Wakudumo into the technical setup,” the statement read.
Rundu Chiefs indicated that the decision is aimed at strengthening leadership within the squad and improving overall performance on the pitch.
“The combination of Coach Pelwan’s leadership and Coach Wakudumo’s experience will provide stability and clear direction as we approach the crucial stages of the season,” the club stated.
The club expressed confidence that the new technical arrangement will enhance continuity and help steer the team toward improved results in the remaining fixtures.
