FC Ongos striker Petrus Stephanus has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a serious leg injury during his side’s league clash against KK Palace FC at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

Stephanus sustained a broken left leg following a challenge from KK Palace defender Kelvin Akper during the match, which FC Ongos lost 2–0. He was immediately rushed to Katutura Hospital, where he underwent a successful operation later the same day.

The striker has been one of the standout performers this season and currently leads the league’s goal-scoring chart with 12 goals. Medical reports indicate that he could be sidelined for at least 12 months, with additional time required for full rehabilitation before returning to competitive football.

His impressive goal tally has played a key role in FC Ongos’ strong campaign, helping the club move up to third place on the league table with 41 points. They trail log leaders African Stars FC by six points and sit five points behind second-placed Chula-Chula FC.

After the match, Akper was on scoresheet against Ongos took to social media where he reminded FC Ongos that he once had trials with the club but was not signed.

“FC Ongos, I’m the beast you let go for a sheep. Never an option, I’m a choice,” he wrote.

With only four matches remaining in the season, FC Ongos will now have to finish the campaign without their top scorer, a setback that could significantly influence their final position on the table.
