Few NFA Cup Preliminary Winners Replaced as Round of 32 Draw Confirmed

The NFA Cup has experienced several adjustments ahead of the Round of 32, with some preliminary round winners being replaced due to eligibility and ownership regulations, while the official draw has now been confirmed.
Among the affected teams, UNAM Rundu Campus (North East First Division) were disqualified after it was established that UNAM FC is already part of the competition under the same ownership structure, in line with Article 20.6 of the competition rules. Their place has now been taken by losing finalists United Stars FC.
Omaheke Sports Club were also ruled out under the same regulation, as Khomas NAMPOL’s involvement in the competition created a conflict under the ownership provisions. Gobabis Sports Club, who were the losing finalists, were then promoted into the Round of 32.
Correctional 11 FC (Otjozondjupa) also missed out after being affected by the same ownership-related rule under Article 20.6, with Dynamos FC stepping in as replacements after finishing as losing finalists.
!Ugab FC (Kunene) were disqualified on the ground that they fielded a player who had already participated in the preliminary stages for another region of the same competition. Their place was filled by Pubs FC, the runners-up.
Namibia Navy FC (Erongo) were also among the affected teams, with reports indicating that their participation was not aligned with eligibility requirements linked to club structures involving higher division affiliates, with Mighty Gunners FC listed among the connected setups. Their slot was subsequently filled through the competition’s replacement process.
In addition, several losing finalists from the First Division also progressed into the Round of 32 to fill vacancies created after the withdrawal of three Namibia Premier League sides, Tigers FC, Life Fighters FC, and Bucks Buccaneers FC.
The Namibia Football Association has further clarified that FC UNAM and NUST FC will both remain in the competition, as there is no ownership conflict between the two clubs.
Despite the changes, the Round of 32 draw was conducted earlier today at Football House, setting up fixtures for matches scheduled to take place from 29–31 May 2026.
