Kavango West Second Division League Set to Kick Off This Weekend

The Kavango West Second Division League is set to officially kick off this weekend after its opening was postponed last week due to delays in team registrations on the E-Connect system.
Confirming the development, Kavango West Regional Football Association (KWRFA) chairperson Ferdinand Hausiku told Kavango East MICT saying that all outstanding administrative matters have now been addressed, paving the way for the region’s top-tier league to commence.
The league was initially scheduled to start last weekend but was deferred after several teams experienced challenges completing their registration process on the E-Connect platform. The postponement, however, was viewed positively by some football supporters, who believe the additional time allowed clubs to fine-tune their preparations, the MICT said in the post.
Fans who attended pre-season friendly matches held at Nankudu village last weekend noted concerns over players’ physical fitness, suggesting that the extra days could help teams improve conditioning ahead of competitive action.
Among the opening fixtures, newly promoted side Time Boys FC faces a tough test as they travel to take on experienced campaigners Nankudu XI FC in what is expected to be a highly contested encounter.
Meanwhile, Chief Sitentu FC will host Kulisuka Palace FC at the Nkurenkuru Sport Complex, with kick-off scheduled for 16h00 on Saturday. Kulisuka Palace FC is anticipated to draw confidence from the experience gained during their participation in the North-East Stream First Division League last season.
With anticipation building across the region, football fans are expected to turn out in numbers as the Kavango West Second Division League finally gets underway.
