Newly promoted Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) side KK United FC have reportedly turned their attention to experienced coach Wacko Wakudumo as they continue preparations for their first season in the country’s top-flight league.

The Nkurenkuru-based club, known as the Blue Machine, was previously linked with former African Stars FC coach Agnus Elemu, but the possible move did not go as planned, with the club now focusing on appointing Wakudumo as the man expected to lead the team.

KK United FC are looking to bring in a coach with the experience and qualifications required to guide the club through their historic NPFL campaign after gaining promotion to the elite division.

Wakudumo comes with recent top-flight experience after leading Rundu Chiefs FC for most of the previous season. Under his leadership, Rundu Chiefs showed signs of improvement and competed strongly, but changes within the technical team affected the club’s progress.

Rundu Chiefs’ performances improved during Wakudumo’s first spell in charge, but after his demotion to assistant coach, the team struggled and returned to the relegation zone.

KK United FC have already announced Richard Gariseb as their new assistant manager, while club chairperson Sisanda Gabriel previously confirmed that the head coach announcement would be made once the incoming coach arrives in Nkurenkuru.

If confirmed, Wakudumo’s appointment would give KK United FC a coach with valuable Namibian football experience as they prepare for their first-ever NPFL season.
