UNAM FC Star Paulus Amutenya Joins Gaborone United

Namibian midfielder Paulus Amutenya has completed his move to Botswana Premier League side Gaborone United, ending a highly successful four-year spell with UNAM FC.
Amutenya departs after establishing himself as one of UNAM FC’s most influential players, finishing as the club’s top scorer in three consecutive seasons. His leadership and performances also saw him take on the captaincy.
The midfielder played a central role in UNAM FC’s historic 2026 NFA Cup triumph, helping the club secure its first major silverware. He was subsequently named Best Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances during the competition.
He also helped guide the university side to the Standard Bank Cup final and finished last season as the club’s leading assist provider.
Amutenya’s move to Gaborone United follows a trial spell in Botswana, where he immediately made an impression. During one of the trial matches, he scored against African Stars FC and was named Man of the Match, strengthening his case for a move to the Botswana outfit.

His departure marks the end of an important chapter at UNAM FC, where he leaves behind a record of goals, assists, leadership and silverware.
