Crystal Palace Stun Nottingham Forest With Comeback Victory at Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace came from behind to secure an impressive 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest after recovering from an early setback in an entertaining encounter.
Nottingham Forest made a fast start, with Dan Ndoye opening the scoring in the third minute to give his side an early advantage.
Palace responded positively and gradually grew into the game, with Jefferson Lerma Solís playing a key role in their comeback. The hosts drew level in the 41st minute through Daichi Kamada, who was assisted by Quinten Timber.
Palace carried their momentum into stoppage time at the end of the first half, with Lerma finding the net again in the 45+4th minute. Adam Wharton provided the assist as the home side turned the match around to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
The hosts continued to put pressure on Forest after the restart, and Yeremi Pino extended their advantage in the 59th minute to make it 3-1.
Forest made several substitutions in an attempt to get back into the contest, introducing Ibrahim Sangaré, Xaver Schlager, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood among others. However, Palace maintained their advantage as the visitors struggled to find a way back into the game.
Both teams made further changes in the closing stages, with Ismaïla Sarr and Eddie Nketiah among the players introduced for Palace, while Forest continued searching for a response.
Despite Forest’s efforts, Crystal Palace held on to claim a convincing 3-1 victory, with Lerma’s first-half brace and Pino’s second-half strike proving decisive.
