Former MP and Caprivi Treason Convict Geoffrey Mwilima Dies at 70

Geoffrey Mwilima, a former Member of Parliament and one of the individuals convicted in connection with the Caprivi high treason trial, has died at the age of 70.
According to available information, Mwilima passed away this morning. His death comes just weeks after he was granted remission and released from prison on 24 December.

Mwilima previously served as a parliamentarian representing the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), now known as the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM). He later became widely known for his involvement in the long-running Caprivi high treason case, one of Namibia’s most prominent legal proceedings.
