Suspended Grant Beneficiaries Urged to Verify Identity Details Before 31 July

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has called on grant beneficiaries whose payments were suspended to visit their nearest pension office before 31 July 2026 to verify their identity details.
Acting Executive Director Rosina Museke-Mubonenwa said beneficiaries who fail to complete the verification process by the deadline may not have their cases processed further.
The ministry explained that the payment suspension followed the discovery of mismatched information between some beneficiaries’ records and the National Population Register. Those affected include people still using old South West Africa identity documents, outdated Namibian identity cards, individuals who have not submitted their official national identity documents, and cases where identity documents belonging to deceased people were used.
Museke-Mubonenwa urged all affected beneficiaries to act quickly by visiting pension offices in their respective regions before the end of the month to avoid further delays.
She also confirmed that the ministry has already resumed payments to beneficiaries whose information has been successfully verified. Payments, including outstanding back pay, will continue to be processed until September 2026.
Beneficiaries who have not received the full amount owed to them after the September payment cycle have been advised to visit their nearest pension office for assistance, as the ministry continues to resolve outstanding payment issues.
