Walvis Bay Students Call for Triumphant College Examination Centre

Students affiliated with Triumphant College in Walvis Bay are appealing for the establishment of a local examination centre, citing the financial and logistical challenges they face travelling to other towns to sit for examinations.
Currently, the institution operates only a satellite office in Walvis Bay, forcing students to travel mainly to Windhoek and other locations during examination periods.
Several students say the situation has become increasingly difficult, especially for those who cannot afford transport and accommodation expenses.
According to some students, the long distance to Windhoek places unnecessary pressure on them during examinations, with many having to secure temporary accommodation such as guest houses due to the absence of relatives or support networks in the capital.
They believe the establishment of an examination centre in Walvis Bay would significantly reduce costs and make studying more manageable for coastal students.
Responding to the concerns, Triumphant College supervisor Taimi Shikoha said the institution is aware of the need for a local examination facility.
Shikoha explained that the examination centre is expected to become operational once the Walvis Bay branch officially opens later this year.
The development has brought hope to many students, who say a fully operational branch and examination centre at the coast would improve access to higher education services and ease the burden currently faced by learners in the region.
