23-Year-Old Killed After Car Slams Into Truck in Windhoek

A fatal crash claimed the life of a young driver in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Lafrenz industrial area of Windhoek, while two passengers survived with injuries.
According to Namibian Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the accident happened at around 04:00 in Rendsburger Street. A 23-year-old driver, identified as Shitaa Mushakwa Felix, was driving a black Volkswagen Golf with two passengers when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a stationary truck parked along the road.
The two passengers managed to escape from the wreckage and were taken to hospital with moderate injuries. The driver, however, sustained serious injuries and died after arriving at the hospital.
Police investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, and the next of kin of the deceased have been informed.
