Child Dies After NDF Truck Overturns at Kavango West Farm

A fatal road accident involving a military vehicle has claimed the life of a young boy in the Kavango West region earlier today.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred at Agrotour farm during the early morning hours. Kavango West regional commander Julia Sakuwa-Neo reported that a 37-year-old driver was transporting several workers in a Namibia Defence Force (NDF) truck when the crash happened at around 07:00.
It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting a guinea fowl, causing the truck to overturn. The vehicle was carrying five passengers at the time.
A nine-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while four other occupants, aged 40, 35, 12, and 10, suffered serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Rundu State Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved are Namibian nationals. The family of the deceased has been notified, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
