Collision Between Donkey Cart and Bakkie Claims Lives of Three Donkeys

A rear-end collision between a double cab bakkie and a donkey cart on Saturday evening left four people with minor injuries and killed three donkeys on the Tsandi–Ongulumbashe road.

The crash occurred at around 20h00 in the Tsandi constituency, where both the bakkie and the donkey cart were travelling in the same direction. According to Omusati regional police commander, Ismael Basson, the bakkie allegedly crashed into the cart from behind, causing the driver to lose control and the cart to overturn.

As a result of the impact, three donkeys died at the scene, while one survived.

Four people sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment. They were later discharged.

Police further revealed that the driver of the bakkie was allegedly driving without a valid driver’s licence.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
