Driver and Bodyguard of Minister Sankwasa Die in Fatal Windhoek Crash

Police in Windhoek are investigating a fatal collision that claimed the lives of Lukas Nangolo (50), the official driver, and George Shiluwa (38), the bodyguard to Minister James Sankwasa, on Friday night.
The accident occurred at about 19:50 at the Rocky Crest–Khomasdal traffic lights on Sam Nujoma Drive. According to the police, the vehicle carrying Nangolo and Shiluwa was struck by another car at the intersection, forcing it into a second collision with an Amarok.
Both men died instantly. They were heading home after dropping off Minister James Sankwasa at his residence.
Minister Sankwasa expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Nangolo and Shiluwa as respectful, calm, and dedicated individuals. He extended heartfelt condolences to their families and prayed for strength during this difficult time.
Police have opened a case of culpable homicide as well as reckless and negligent driving against the driver who collided with their vehicle. Investigations continue.
